- Who it's for
- Foreign nationals traveling to Nigeria who are not citizens of an ECOWAS member state. ECOWAS citizens are visa-exempt. The eVisa replaced the old visa-on-arrival route, so eligible travelers now arrange permission to enter before they set out.
- Permitted activities
- There are separate categories for tourism, business, transit, sports, creative arts, study tours, academic and cultural exchange, and emergency or relief work, plus a re-entry category for foreign-passport holders who are Nigerian by birth. You pick the category that matches your trip.
- Entry points
- Air, sea and land. The eVisa itself does not restrict which port you use, but the separate Digital Landing Card is required at every entry point for arrival processing.
- Delivery format
- An electronic approval letter delivered as a PDF. Some travelers also receive a visa sticker or an electronic entry stamp in the passport once they arrive.
- Good to know
- The eVisa is not extendable beyond the period you are granted, and the government fee is generally not refunded if an application is turned down. It also does not replace the Digital Landing Card, which is a separate mandatory filing for arrival.
- Validity
- Valid for 90 days
- Entry
- Single entry
- Length of stay
- Stay up to 30 days per entry
- Processing time
- Get it in as fast as 24 hours

This is my second time using ivisa and definitely will not be my last time !
The system for the application is clear and easy to follow. There was some confusion and inconsistencies about my application because persons responding from customer support were saying different things. In addition, I paid for a service that was forgotten and the staff in customer didn't trust me in the beginning until they find out after 7 hours of exchange of WhatsApp messages. It was not pleasant at all. In general the system is good but not reliable.
Very efficient application and so fast and also very helpful . Looking forward to visiting wonderful Lagos for the second year. Happy Days Thank you Philip Andrew Shepherd.
This time they sorted out my visa properly and on time. Thank you for the excellent service.
I would definitely recommend your services to friends and family, sorry I didn’t try earlier. and I will definitely use it in the future. I am a frequent traveler and will be needing more visas.
Excellent service, speedy and simply. Quick response I applied within 15 hours and I received just like that - emailed to me and it’s unbelievable 🫶🏾💓👏🏾💞
I had a great experience. I was promptly informed about missing information on my application. I received my visa timely.

I thought the process was going to be more difficult and exhausting. It was very simple and to the point. I appreciate that. Traveling requires a lot of steps, so having something like this go smoothly and quickly is amazing.
They are very helpful especialy worked hard and ver patient as I didn’t know how to upload and they all were excellent
Nigeria visa FAQs
Quick answers to the most common questions about the Nigeria eVisa.
Still have questions?
Our visa experts are available 24/7 on chat, email, and WhatsApp.
Does the Nigeria eVisa replace the Visa on Arrival (VoA) system?
Yes. As of May 2025, Nigeria officially phased out the old Visa on Arrival system for most travelers. You must now apply for a Short Visit Visa (eVisa) online before you fly. You can no longer simply show up at the airport and apply from scratch; the eVisa is mandatory to board your flight.
What is the Nigeria Landing Card?
All travelers (including Nigerians with dual citizenship) must complete an electronic landing and exit card online at least 72 hours before boarding. This system is integrated with the eVisa to track your stay duration automatically. Failure to present the card can result in boarding denials or fines at the airport.
Can I extend my Nigeria eVisa while in the country?
No. Under the updated 2025/2026 visa policy, most short-visit eVisas (tourism and business) are strictly non-extendable. If you need to stay longer than the days granted, you must leave the country and apply for a new visa. Overstaying triggers an automatic fine and can lead to a 5-year entry ban.
Do I need a CAC Certificate for a Business eVisa?
Yes. If you're applying for a Business eVisa, you must upload a copy of the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) Certificate of the Nigerian company inviting you. This is a mandatory requirement to prove the business is legally registered in Nigeria. An invitation letter alone is usually insufficient without this document.
Can I apply for my family as a group?
Yes. The Nigerian eVisa portal now supports group applications for up to 10 people. This allows one person to submit details and pay fees for the entire party at once, ensuring all applications are processed together for the same travel dates.
How long does the Nigeria eVisa processing take?
The Nigeria eVisa is usually processed quickly. With iVisa, you choose your processing speed at checkout, and the option you pick is shown with its delivery time before you pay. We recommend applying at least 5 days before your departure date to account for any unexpected government delays.
Do children/minors need their own Nigeria eVisa?
Yes. Every traveler, regardless of age, must have their own individual eVisa. For minors under 18, you must also provide a copy of the child's birth certificate and a notarized letter of consent signed by both parents. These documents are checked alongside the visa upon arrival.
What happens if my Nigeria eVisa application is denied?
If denied, you will receive a notification. Common reasons for denial include missing CAC Certificates (for business trips), insufficient proof of funds, or blurry document scans. You can usually re-apply by submitting a completely new application with corrected information. iVisa offers denial protection. In some cases, our experts can help you reapply for the eVisa, or you may need to apply for a traditional sticker visa at a Nigerian consulate.
