How can Canadians extend their stay beyond the initial entry stamp?

Immigration officers typically grant a 30-day stay upon arrival. If you wish to stay longer, you must apply for an extension at the DIMAS (immigration) office before your current authorization expires. Visa-exempt Canadians can extend their tourist stay up to a maximum of 90 days total, or up to 180 days if they own real estate or a timeshare on the island.
