Australian permanent residents and cruise ship passengers can visit with an NZeTA instead. The visa allows stays of up to 6 or 9 months and up to 3 months of study. You can't work for a New Zealand employer or business, but remote work for an overseas employer or client is allowed. Since 1 October 2026, Immigration New Zealand accepts Visitor Visa applications online only, and paper forms only in exceptional circumstances. The New Zealand Embassy in Manila is closed to the general public. Before you arrive, complete the New Zealand Traveller Declaration (NZTD), which you can submit up to 24 hours before your travel starts. Transit passengers who stay in the transit area at Auckland International Airport for less than 24 hours don't need one.
