Our visa experts are available 24/7 on chat, email, and WhatsApp.

Do I need an Oman eVisa?

Many travelers require a visa to enter Oman, though the Sultanate offers visa-free entry to over 100 nationalities for stays up to 14 days (subject to specific conditions like hotel booking and health insurance). For stays longer than 14 days or for those not on the visa-exempt list: Eligible countries: Citizens of the US, UK, Canada, Australia, and EU nations can apply for various eVisa types (Single or Multiple Entry). GCC residents: Residents of Gulf Cooperation Council countries can apply for a specific GCC Resident eVisa if they hold a valid residency permit and work in an approved profession. GCC citizens: Citizens of Saudi Arabia, UAE, Kuwait, Qatar, and Bahrain do not need a visa to enter Oman.

Do I need a visa for Oman if I have a layover?

If you remain in the airport transit area and do not pass through immigration, you generally do not need a visa. However, if your transit time is long and you wish to leave the airport or stay in a hotel outside the transit zone, you must obtain a valid eVisa or transit visa.

Can I get a Visa on Arrival instead of an Oman eVisa?

Visa-free entry is available for 14 days for over 100 nationalities. However, official Royal Oman Police (ROP) guidelines stipulate strict conditions to qualify for this: You must have a confirmed hotel reservation, health insurance (covering COVID-19/emergency), and a return ticket. Unlike the 30-day eVisa, the 14-day visa-free entry cannot be extended or converted to another visa type.

How will I receive the Oman eVisa?

You will receive your approved Oman eVisa as a PDF document via email. It will display your reference number and personal details. It's recommended to print a physical copy of this document to present to the immigration officer at the border. The officer will then issue you a final entry permit after verifying your documents. If you applied through iVisa, you can also find a copy of your approval PDF in your dashboard.

How long can I stay in Oman?

Stay duration depends on the visa type issued: 14-day Visa on Arrival: Allows a stay of up to 14 days. 10-day Tourist Visa (26A): Allows a stay of up to 10 days. 30-day Tourist Visa (26B): Allows a stay of up to 30 days. One-year Multiple Entry Visa (36B): Allows multiple entries with a stay of up to 30 days per visit. The visa must typically be used to enter Oman within 6 months of the approval date.

Can I extend my stay in Oman?

Extensions are possible for some eVisa types but are not guaranteed. You can apply for a one-time extension for the 30-day Tourist Visa at the Royal Oman Police visa office at the airport or at various service centers in Muscat. Overstaying without an official extension results in a fine (typically 10 OMR per day). It is highly recommended to finalize any extension before your current visa expires.

What is the processing time for the Oman eVisa?

The Omani government usually processes eVisas within 24 to 48 hours. With iVisa, you can get your Oman eVisa in as fast as 15 minutes.

Do children/minors need an Oman eVisa?

Yes. Every traveler, including infants and children, must have their own individual visa. You can use iVisa's "Add another person" feature to easily manage applications for the whole family in one session, saving time and effort.

What happens if my Oman eVisa application is rejected?

Common reasons for rejection include a blurry passport scan, a passport that expires in less than 6 months, or inconsistent personal data. If the government rejects the application, the government fee is generally non-refundable. iVisa mitigates this risk by providing an expert review of your documents to ensure they meet the specific Omani government standards.

Why travelers choose iVisa

On your own

  • The Royal Oman Police portal was unreliable in testing, with the apply link repeatedly bouncing back to the FAQ page instead of opening the form.
  • Oman runs several tourist tiers alongside a separate sponsored visa for Gulf residents, and travelers regularly confuse the two.
  • The portal enforces strict limits on the passport scan and photo you upload, and rejects files that do not meet them.
  • Support is phone and email in Arabic and English only. There is no live chat and no third language.
  • One working form that opens when you click it, with your progress saved as you go.
  • We check which product your nationality and residence actually qualify you for, before you pay for the wrong one.
  • We check your scan and photo against the requirements first, so an upload problem does not stall your application.
  • Round-the-clock human support by chat, WhatsApp, phone and email, in your own language.
