Who can apply for the Czech Republic Schengen Visa?

The Schengen Zone is visa-free for EU citizens and Schengen nationals. Most other travelers, however, must apply for a Czech Republic Schengen Visa and undergo an interview before traveling.

Children and minors are also required to apply for a Czech Schengen Visa if they are from an eligible nation.

How long can I stay in the country with the Czech Republic Schengen Visa?

With this Czech visa, you can visit the country and Schengen area for up to 90 days per entry.

Please note: It is possible to apply for multiple-entry visas, but the Czech Republic authorities decide whether you will be given a single-entry, double-entry, or multiple-entry visa. Visas for multiple entries can be issued from 180 days up to five years.

Which documents do I need to apply for the Czech Republic Schengen Visa?

When you apply for the Czech Schengen Visa you will need the following requirements:

  • Visa application form

  • Passport photo:

  • Valid passport: Valid for at least three months after arrival. There must be at least two blank pages in your passport for visa stickers

The Czech authorities will contact you if you need to provide extra documents, such as bank statements or a travel itinerary. Their birth certificates and parental consent must be provided for minors applying for a Schengen visa.

What is the cost and processing time of the Czech Republic Schengen Visa application?

Czech Republic authorities can take up to 45 days to decide, but it can take longer. It is advised to apply for a Czech Republic visa at least two months before you go.

The government visa fee of about US$85 (may differ per nationality) must be paid during your appointment (half-price for children between the ages of 6 and 12 and free for kids under 6 years old).

Do I need the Czech Republic Schengen Visa if I’m transiting through the country?

You don’t need an Airport Transit Visa to transit through the Czech Republic if you already have a Schengen Visa unless you are from one of the following countries:

Afghanistan, Algeria, Armenia, Bangladesh, Chad, Congo(DR), Cuba, Egypt, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Ghana, India, Iran, Iraq, Libya, Mali, Mauritania, Nigeria, Pakistan, Palestinian National Authorities, Russia, Somalia, South Sudan, Sri Lanka, Sudan, Syria, Turkey, and Yemen.
