Nigerian citizens are eligible to apply for a Uganda Visa online. This means you do not have to go to the nearest Ugandan diplomatic mission or embassy to get your visa. The process is via the eVisa system, so you must provide some documents. Once you have a completed application form, you can submit it and wait for the Uganda visa to arrive in your email.

Yes, you need an Uganda visa to visit the country. The good news is that you are eligible to apply online for an Uganda eVisa. With a few clicks and meeting the Uganda visa requirements, you can submit a visa application for a Uganda Tourist Visa, East Africa Visa, or Transit visa. There is no need for an appointment with an immigration officer at the embassy.

HOW MANY TYPES OF UGANDA E-VISAS ARE THERE FOR NIGERIANS?

Nigerians need a visa to enter Uganda, but there are three simple options to get the document online:

WHAT IS THE EAST AFRICA VISA?

Do you need to visit Uganda multiple times in a short period? Do you travel to Uganda, but also Kenya and Rwanda? Then, the East Africa Visa is the best option for you. This visa allows visitors to enter the Republic of Kenya, the Republic of Rwanda, and the Republic of Uganda** for tourism. A single travel document to visit the three African countries, with the entire application process online.

Once you successfully apply, you will receive the document via email. Then you can print it and carry this travel authorization with you. It's a multiple-entry visa, valid for 90 days after arrival. In these three countries, Nigerian citizens can stay for a maximum of 90 days in total.

Be aware that applicants must not have another current Rwanda, Kenya, or Uganda visa to apply for this permit.

WHAT ARE THE REQUIRED DOCUMENTS TO APPLY FOR THE EAST AFRICA VISA

Nigerian passport holders need to provide the following documents to apply for the East Africa Visa:

  • Yellow Fever vaccine certificate

The Tourist eVisa has a 90-day validity after being issued. The document allows a maximum stay of 45 days in total, and citizens of Nigeria can enter Uganda a single time with it. It's important to know that applicants can't have any other current Uganda Visa to apply for this Tourist eVisa.

WHAT IS THE UGANDA TRANSIT EVISA?

Uganda is not your destination country; you only have a stopover but want to leave the Entebbe International Airport transit area. In this case, you must apply for the Uganda Transit Visa. Nigerian citizens applying for this eVisa must have confirmed onward tickets for a third country or other acceptable plans to depart Uganda within two days after arrival.

Applicants will receive their visas via email after filling out the form on iVisa application page. Keep in mind that the Transit eVisa is an official document that allows Nigerian passport holders to transit through Uganda. This will enable them to enter and exit the country within two days. You should apply for a Uganda tourist visa to stay longer than that.

Travelers from Nigeria have to provide the following Uganda visa requirements to apply for the Transit Visa:
